Following the epidemiological situation in other European nations, Estonia has tightened entry procedures for visitors from areas where the Coronavirus and its new forms are prevalent.

In terms of the COVID-19 scenario, Estonian authorities currently consider only the Vatican City State to be a safe territory, which is still on the green list, while Romania is deemed a medium-risk territory. According to SchengenVisaInfo.com, all other European Union and Schengen Area territories are featured in the red list, which includes nations that have recently reported high rates of COVID-19 infection.

Taking into account the COVID-19 situation in other territories, Estonian authorities continue to categorize them as green, yellow, or red.

Only the Holy See is regarded as a safe territory, according to a statement released by Estonia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, because it has recently reported few COVID-19 infection cases.

Countries on the green list are free from some entrance restrictions, such as a negative COVID-19 test result or a quarantine requirement, when they arrive in the Baltic State.

The same Ministry also said that Romania is on the yellow list, which currently covers only medium-risk territories in terms of the COVID-19 situation, implying that Romanians who have not completed their Coronavirus immunization process are required to to present a negative result of the COVID-19 test before reaching Estonia.

Passengers who do not have a pre-departure test must be tested when they arrive.

Travelers from countries on the yellow list, on the other hand, are not obligated to follow quarantine laws once they arrive in Baltic territory.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia has also indicated that a large number of countries are currently on the red list, which means that visitors from these countries will be required to take the COVID-19 exam upon admission if they have not already done so.

Furthermore, arrivals from the red list must comply with the ten-day quarantine requirement, which can be shortened by completing another COVID-19 test after the sixth day of self-isolation and receiving a negative result.

Estonian officials, on the other hand, have indicated that people with a valid vaccination certificate will not be subjected to any additional entrance procedures.

Estonia’s red list consists of the following territories:

Since the start of the pandemic, Estonia has recorded a total of 227,446 cases of COVID-19 infection, with 1,845 persons dying, according to WHO estimates.

According to WHO data, 3,251 cases of COVID-19 infection have been reported in Estonia in the last seven days, with 35 persons dying during that time.
