The South African Cabinet stated on Wednesday, November 24th, that extensions to the Zimbabwean Exemption Permit (ZEP), which is slated to expire on December 31st, will no longer be permitted.
Cabinet has approved a 12-month grace period (not an extension) during which Zimbabwean expats must “apply for alternative permissions relevant to their individual position or situation.”
While this news may come as a shock to the estimated 450 000 Zimbabweans living in South Africa, our partners at IBN Immigration are here to help.
If you are confused about your present immigration status, please contact knowledgeable advisers for assistance in determining which visa is best for you in the future.
